Hôtel Le Toiny, 15 Villa Suites on 38 acres at Anse de Toiny on the island of St. Bart’s opened November 1, 1992. Built by local French architect Claude Pitoors, the architecture was heavily influenced by the old plantation houses of the French Caribbean, fitting naturally in a tropical hillside setting. The original owners were Michael Chen from Korea and Raymond Balsen of France. They sold Hôtel Le Toiny in late 2006 to a group of six investors based in Australia and Austin, Texas. Le Toiny’s 15 Villa Suites are self-contained cottages and include one Junior Suite; 13 one-bedroom Villa Suites and La Villa, a 1-3 bedroom Master House that includes two bungalows. Each suite features a breathtaking ocean view, large terrace and private heated swimming pool. Located in an area on the island that is still undeveloped, the landscape around Hôtel Le Toiny is perfectly preserved with natural vegetation, including St. Bart’s rare Gaïac trees and cacti. * Condé Nast Johansens nominated Le Toiny for the Award of “ the Most Excellent Romantic Hideaway in the Caribbean & Pacific Islands” 2007
